Strategic Planning

As we continue the process of unifying Johnson State College and Lyndon State College to become Northern Vermont University, it is imperative that we develop an effective strategic plan to ensure the vibrancy of NVU and the success of our students. Consistent with our mission, vision, and core values, the strategic plan will provide NVU with the direction needed to address our strategic priorities.

Draft Strategic Plan

The Strategic Planning Steering Committee has created a draft of the NVU Strategic Plan that is near final form.

Thanks to everyone who participated in the community conversations about the strategic plan in January and February.

Strategic Plan Process and Documentation

In August 2017, we created a Strategic Planning Steering Committee (SPSC) to begin the work of creating our first NVU strategic plan. Steering committee members are leading six working groups to develop goals and initiatives in support of the six strategic priorities identified by President Collins.

On this website, you will find results that the SPSC has produced to date.  It includes an analysis of the relevant external trends that are and will impact NVU.

You can find documents outlining preliminary goals and initiatives here.

You can view presentations from our initial strategic planning community meeting here.
